ELEVATE INNOVATE CONNECT: our opportunity to develop the expression of life at the Academy into the future, anticipate and enrich our potential … a place where students are the primary citizens.
Building on the Academy’s reputation as an established and respected academic institution, the new Master Plan is our vision to foster a place that is stimulating, harmonious, nurturing, and minimises environmental impacts.
The Master Plan supports our Mercy ethos by maximising the opportunity for a quality education through the creation of learning neighbourhoods, and wellbeing and collaborative engagement hubs for both students and staff.
The Master Plan also increases our relationship with the city as a classroom. This is not limited to buildings — it is a proposed landscape development aimed at creating a holistic learning and development environment for young women at the Academy.
Historical context allows engagement with the best of the past while looking towards tomorrow. Heritage overlays will respect our past and environmental aspirations will bring deep understanding, cohesiveness and innovation to the campus.
Innovative and adaptive re-use can bring unexpected and exciting architectural solutions. Incorporating the Convent of Mercy into our campus will strengthen our sense of spirituality, memory, and history. While sustainable, holistic environmental initiatives will reveal the importance of biodiversity, energy, food, waste, and water.
The aspirations in our Master Plan is the continued transformation of the Academy into a learning community to support the development of young women of integrity and purpose.
