Academy of Fine Arts, London – Licence to Teach

Early in June Yr 11 student Kasthuri Sahathevan completed a final performance exam for The Academy of Fine Arts, London to demonstrate a sufficient standard in performance in Indian Carnatic (Indian classical music) to be given a licence to teach.

The exam involved a 90 minute recital of Vocal music (performing a range of Indian vocal techniques through music), followed by another 90 minutes  Veena (Indian stringed instrument) techniques and music.

It was a demanding process, and we can attest that Kasthuri performed beautifully in the exam to a receptive audience of around 50 music specialists, and three examiners from the Melbourne Branch of the London Academy of Fine Arts. Congratulations to Kasthuri – and we all look forward to the results.
