Science with the Academy, CSIRO and Melbourne – seriously good fun

National Science Week 12 – 20 August

The Academy of Mary Immaculate was invited back to host a stall to promote science within the community by the CSIRO, who have run the “Living Science at the Market” at the Queen Victoria Market for the past nine years.

Nine Academy students, from Years 7 to 11, shared their passion for science with a receptive public imparting their knowledge and skill. The students were great ambassadors for the College and with enthusiasm, encouraged all ages to ‘have a go’ and participate in the multiple science activities provided.

The Environment Protection Authority of Victoria, complimented the Academy on having a worm farm and the College’s ambition to become a more sustainable school.

The day was a huge success – for the students, the public, the College’s profile in our Melbourne community and, of course, the amazing world of science!
