Mercy Day 2017

28 SEPTEMBER 2017 | COLLEGE UPDATES

Our Mercy Day Mass was particularly significant this year – being part of our 160th Anniversary year. Past students, across the decades from the 1940s to 2010s, represented the Alumnae and proceeded into St Patrick’s Cathedral, as current choir and instrumental music students welcomed the congregation in song.

“It was lovely to see the alumnae, particularly the elderly ones, taking part in the procession and then later to see the whole youthful school community heading up the central aisle for communion. Such fine looking young women.” Alumnae

Following the Mass the College community returned for a BBQ lunch prepared by a number of parents. The day concluded with a concert during which each House performed a number of dance routines.

The whole day was a wonderful celebration of the Academy community.

“As the current college community we are aware of both the treasure that is ours and the responsibility that is ours. We stand on the shoulders of giants not over awed by this but rather impelled to ensure that their legacy is lived and passed to the next generation.” Sr Mary
