College Sport & Club AFL premiers

College Sports

Term 3 is an extremely busy one for Academy sport teams with record numbers of participation and good results. The Fitness Club, plus competitions in soccer and AFL football, fill our calendar. Looking forward, nothing is winding down with more netball, lacrosse, volleyball, and athletics still to come.

Academy girls also competed in their first ever hockey competition in the last week of Term 2, placing runners-up in the division 2 hockey. Our juniors made semi-finals in AFL and were runners-up in C-grade division 1 volleyball.

Teams are training both after school and before school to fit all the events in. We are grateful to a team of coaches – teachers, alumnae, and senior students – who all make these competitions possible.

Club AFL

In sports successes outside the College, three of our Year 9 girls – Odessa, Emily, and Gemma – were part of the premier team for Yarraville Seddon Eagles in the U15 football grand final. Emily and Gemma gave a motivational talk to inspire the U12 Yarraville Seddon Eagles girls ahead of their grand final appearance. Odessa, Emily and Gemma all play AFL Footy at the Academy.
