First Aid
A First Aid Centre, staffed by trained first aid personnel, is available for student use. The main purpose for the establishment of the First Aid Centre at the College is the Emergency treatment of student ailments and accidental injuries which occur from time to time during school hours.
The following procedures apply:
Illness - A student will be referred to the First Aid Centre by her teacher if she requires treatment during the school day due to illness or injury and parents will be contacted by telephone if the student needs home care. For this reason emergency telephone numbers are essential. Parents are requested not to send their children to school if they are unwell.
Medication - Medications, including Panadol or similar medication, required to be taken at school must have a note signed by a parent stating:
-
The type of medication.
-
The reason for its administration.
-
The dosage and time to be taken.
Medication is to be handed in to the First Aid Centre upon arrival at school and unused medication collected after afternoon dismissal.
Please note that the College does not keep a supply of Panadol or similar medication in the First Aid Centre.
Medical History - Parents are asked to complete the Medical Record Card and update when any major problem / improvement or injury occurs. This information will remain confidential and is a valuable help in an emergency.
