Parents Association

The aims of the Parents’ Association are:

  • To promote and support the Catholic education of the girls at the College.
  • To promote the Mercy ethos and to endeavor to see that it is a lived reality at the College.
  • To support all functions and activities at the College and to assist with the organization of these where appropriate.
  • To be a conduit between AMI Leadership and parents.
  • To provide a discussion forum where members may share views and discuss matters of interest to the College community.
  • To provide a social focus for parents and families.
  • To assist in fundraising activities which enhance the education of AMI students.
     

 

The Parents’ Association is not involved or concerned with the internal running or decisions of the College administration.

Meetings are held on a date and place fixed at the first meeting each year. Currently these meetings take place on Monday evening 7.45pm - 9.00pm. (approx 8 for the year)

The Academy Parents' Association has donated a significant amount annually to the College from fundraising efforts which have included.

  • Easter Raffle
  • Chocolate Drive
  • Trivia Night
  • Christmas Raffle
  • Film Nights
  • Dinner Dance

Students continue to benefit from the provision of school equipment such as computers, musical and audio visual equipment.

The Parents’ Association hosts an annual twilight "Mocktail" Party for Years 11 and 12 parents and students. In March a Years 7 and 8 Family Twilight BBQ hosted by the Parents’ Association in the College grounds allows school families to meet each other in an informal family oriented atmosphere.
